Fashwe

How We Choose Products

Fashwe chooses products and brands with one question in mind: will this be genuinely useful to a reader building a wardrobe for real life?

What we consider

We assess style, usefulness, quality, price and value, as well as versatility and day-to-day practicality. We also consider availability in Australia, sizing and care information when available, and whether an item can work across more than one occasion or season.

Research and comparisons

Research-based recommendations can draw on official product details, retailer information, reputable reporting, customer-facing policies and comparisons between relevant options. We look for clear evidence rather than relying on popularity alone.

First-hand experience

When a product has been personally tested or experienced by a Fashwe contributor, we will say so. When it has not, it is presented as a researched recommendation, not a personal test or guarantee.

Value in an Australian wardrobe

We favour pieces that are wearable, practical and relevant to Australian readers, including Melbourne’s changing weather. A higher price does not automatically mean better value. We consider longevity, cost per wear and whether an item earns its place in a wardrobe.

Affiliate relationships

Affiliate relationships do not determine what we recommend. We may earn a commission when readers make qualifying purchases through some links, at no extra cost to them. That commercial arrangement does not change our editorial judgement. Read our Affiliate Disclosure and Editorial Policy for more detail.
