The Miss USA Pageant 2018 will return to Shreveport in 2018. In about two months, a new Miss USA will be crowned in Shreveport-Bossier, Louisiana.
An announcement was made on Monday at a press conference at the Hirsch Memorial Coliseum and according to their Facebook page, the same venue where the event took place in 1997.
Shreveport hosted the Miss USA competition in 1997 and 1998. In 1998, 1999 and 2000, the city hosted the Miss Teen USA competition.
When is it happening?
The Miss USA Pageant 2018 will take place on Monday, at 8pm May 21. and it will be aired on Fox only.

Who won the contest in 2017?
In last year’s Miss District of Columbia competition, Kára McCullough was crowned Miss USA 2017.
Kara made headlines after being asked if he considered affordable health care for all US citizens a right or a privilege. The physicist later explained why she said it was a “privilege.”
Shortly thereafter, Kára was able to participate in the Miss Universe competition 2017 and experience the connection between the winners of the last competition.
Where is the money coming from for the contest?
The money is already set up to support the event on site. The Bossier City Council will issue an order Tuesday for $ 50,000 from the Hotel Motel Tax Fund to support the Miss USA Pageant 2018 and Miss Teen USA contests. In the meantime, the Caddo Parish Commission should consider approving another $ 50,000.
