Summers, a 23-year-old Omaha candidate, graduated from Texas Christian University with two degrees and is working to become a certified specialist of children.

She replaces Kara McCullough, who won the Las Vegas competition last year.

At the beginning of the two-hour transmission, the field was immediately reduced to 15 participants, depending on how they were played during the preliminary rounds that took place in the days before the broadcast on Monday.

Everyone was in the evening suit, bathing suit and parts of the interview competition.

The last three competitors – Summers, Caelynn Miller-Keyes of North Carolina and Urrea of Nevada – were asked what they would write on a blank poster on the way to a hypothetical walk. Miller-Keyes was the first finalist and Urrea the second finalist.

Summers said she would encourage people to “speak your voice” with your sign. Urrea has promised to work on homelessness. Miller-Keyes talked about preventing sexual assault and said she was going for “her body, her rights”.

During her reply, Summers also drew one of the night’s biggest cheers when she called people to “listen to each other,” saying that it was something of the United States people had to do it.

The evening also covered one of the year’s most important topics: the #MeToo movement, which drew attention to sexual harassment and sexual assault. In a video montage, the participants talked about the special #MeToo moments they had experienced and the empowerment of women.
